In Florida, if you’re in a car accident, you’re required to have something called uninsured motorist coverage to protect you from that exact thing from happening. So any good lawyer is going to look at your policy and see whether or not you purchased that. If you rejected it you had to fill out a form. And any good lawyer’s going to look to see that you actually signed a form like that. If you didn’t have uninsured motorist coverage we look to see whether the other driver was driving someone else’s car. Whoever owns that car if they gave him permission to drive it, their insurance is responsible. And lastly, we are going to look to see whether or not they were employed at the time, or working at the time the accident happened. Because if they were, the employer is also responsible and so is their insurance company.

If you want to know whether or not you still have a case, if the other driver didn’t have insurance, call Attorney John Willis, our South Florida car accident lawyer at 561-599-7300 or submit our contact form. We’ve spent 27 years finding insurance for people who were in car accidents where there was no insurance initially.
