Legal issues related to child head injuries and disability …

If a child has a head injury or other disabling injury, the settlement has to provide care for the rest of his or her life. It can be very substantial. In Florida, any settlement over $15,000 requires a guardian ad litem to independently review the case and determine whether to recommend the settlement to the judge.

When the case is settled, the court appoints another guardian to handle the settlement and make sure it is accounted for and spent properly. That guardian files a report every year until the child turns 18. During the child's adult life, other accommodations must be made to account for the settlement.

A lawyer with experience in handling the nuance of sexual abuse cases …

In a sexual abuse case, it's important to know how to talk to the victims. The child's testimony is often the only available evidence. And sometimes they aren't even able to testify in court. At the Law Offices of John A. Willis, P.A., we have experience in handling these issues and can help you and your child attain justice.
